Images of empty and closed off public spaces reveal the presence of emptiness and the void of spontaneity caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. In New York City, there is usually chance and possibility around every corner and bars and night clubs are one of the types of public spaces that provide that. Stacks of bar stools, empty dance floors and taped off tables are all testaments to the surreal time during lockdown, all laid bare in the absence of people.
